Are you tired of having to re-plow your soil after harvesting wheat? Hate having to walk up and down your farm trying so hard not to tear up your land? Want to Bring All the wheat and seeds to your feet? Well I'm going to show you how!

Supplies you will need for your Automatic Wheat Farm.
    -RedStone Dust
    -Repeaters
    -Dirt
    -Cobblestone
    -Pistons
    -Signs or Ladders
-Light Source ( Torch, Glowstone, etc. )
    -Glass ( optional )
    -Bucket
    -Water
    -Lever

Before we actually begin working on the farm, let's learn a bit of useful knowledge you may not know about minecraft.
-Signs and Ladders will not be washed away by water.
-Redstone will carry a current for 16 blocks before needing an extention.
-Water will not return tilled soil back into dirt.

Now that we've got that bit outta the way, let's get started!
First we will build the basic frame of the farm.
-Place Dirt down in a 7 (wide) x 7 (long) pattern on the ground.
-Now dig out the center row of Dirt
    [IMG]
Now Build a 2 high cobble wall around the back and sides, and a 1 high cobble wall in the front, leaving a gap where the dirt trench is at.

Looking good so far, Now we need to place cobblestone at the beginning of your dirt trench, and some water at the back.

Now expand the back cobble out 5 more blocks.

Forgive the slimes, they just wanted to be in the picture. Now build a cobble wall 2 high at the start of the back wall.

Now remove the cobble from these 2 points on the wall, pictures explain this step alot better than words :)

So, now that you see a cute face (kinda), grab your pistons and place them 2 blocks back from the holes, facing forward.

Now build a 2 high wall around the pistons, leaving the back and front of the piston exposed. also, place one cobble block on top of the piston.

Now we are going to run some redstone connecting from those 2 pistons all the way to the front of the farm. Remeber to use repeaters if you have to go over 15 blocks. (Make sure the repeaters on the current are facing the direction towards the pistons. If you don't, power will NOT reach the pistons.)

Now place a lever at the start of your redstone line, and test your pistons. make sure they both open and close.

Ok pistons are working, now lets finish the rest of the farm. Craft some Cobble Slabs and arrange them in a line above your Dirt Trench. Extend it over the front wall, and connect soem stairs to the front wall next to the gap.also place a sign in between the 2 stairs. (you can place the sign on the side fo the stairs *as shown* in order to be able to still see everything well.)

Now place water on the left and right ends of the trench behind the front wall.

Now, place signs on top of teh same trench, you can place signs on top of signs so they all hang off of the 2 side walls.

Ok now build a suspended one high wall on both sides of the coble slabs. It should be 2 blocks above the dirt Base.

This will keep you from falling off of the cobble walkway and trampling your craops.
Now build your side walls up to match the back wall. Also Light Up the wall with Torches or replace some blocks of the wall with glowstone or jack-o-lanterns. (the left wall is done in torches, the right in glowstone/jack's)

Now, make sure your pistons are extended and place water in the block above the extended part of the piston

Now test your redstone/water flow. Make sure that the water is flowing to the end of the dirt, and also make sure that the trench is still flowing properly to the center.

Ok, now jsut turn off the water, plow your soil, plant your seeds and wait :)

Flip the switch and enjoy :) you can surround your farm to protect the redstone and keep mobs out, the light on the inside is enough to grow the wheat so you can fill in the top, add some glass, you can also build this underground.

And there is your completed Automatic Wheat Farm. You can stack these by copy and pasting the dirt base behind and 1 more high each time you extend. (as shown in the photo below)

Thanks for Looking, and enjoy your wheat farm.
