Factions has come to MCS.

Check your local timezone so you know when we go live.
Upon joining the Factions server you will be given the rank of Outlander. Much like Settler, for Survival, this rank has your basic permissions. Ranking up from here, will require you to /register in game. From there, you can go down some of the rank ladders.
We use gold nuggets as the currency here. (Named gold pieces in game.) Apart from the obvious you can acquire gold pieces by selling certain items to the admin shop at spawn. Pigmen do not drop golden nuggets. But they do drop some tasty pork.
Damage multipliers have been tweaked too. More information on this will be on the Wiki. So make sure to check that out over the coming weeks.
Many things will be added to factions over the coming months. We will be taking suggestions for changes on the server. So if there's something you think will benefit the server, make sure to tell us about it in the factions suggestion section on the forums.

So G-town was a failure of epic proportions!
Sorry about that... totally my fault. However I've removed all the glass, deleted all of the blank claims and it's now a free for all for anyone to claim as much property as they want, wherever they want, starting - NOW!

The long anticipated "Exploration Update" that was first brought to light at Minecon in September has been released today! This update brings a plethora of new mobs and features, so instead of boring you with a long list of changes, here's a mediocre song to help you understand the new features without having to think too much.
Now in case you'd rather die than watch a fairly laughable and absurdly annoying music video, here's a link to the meat and potatoes of this update in full.

On behalf of the Staff Team It is time for a new jail and we would like you to design a jail for the chance of winning a grand prize of 10,000 gn and the new unreleased Nightvision perk for the first place winner, 2nd place will receive 7,500gn and 3rd place a still respectable 4,000gn
So why not help us by making a new jail and get a chance of winning yourself a few extra gn for your own gains, help us to help you. What you got to lose, make it annoying, make it funny, make it different, but enjoy it.
You have until October 7th at 8pm (+2GMT) to submit your jail design, be sure to Include Co-ords and a brief description.
Size is to be no bigger than 16x16 blocks

How to play:
Players will break into teams of two and each player will assume one of two classes.
One player becomes the Hunter and the other is the Builder.
The Hunter must scavenge building blocks in the forest below, while the Builder must build their bridge across the chasm as fast as they can. The game is over when one builder completes their bridge and turns on their lights
Note;
-Hunters must not build on the bridge.
- Builders must not hunt for items in the forest.
- Breaking the rules of your class will result in your bridge collapsing and you have to start again!
- Griefing/PVP is allowed.
- All Building blocks are hidden inside dispensers. But be careful! Some of them may drop a nasty surprise!
